If you have an eVisa
Use a share code as evidence of your identity. In your UKVI account, choose the option to prove your immigration status for anything else. The official rules say you do not need to show a physical document if your identity can be checked using your eVisa.
If you use a physical document
Accepted routes include a valid passport, an eligible valid European national identity card, or a valid travel document with a photograph. Emergency travel documents are not accepted. Bring the original document used for booking, not a copy or screenshot.
BRPs and BRCs
If you cannot access your eVisa, an expired BRP or BRC may be usable. The test must be within 24 months of the printed expiry date and no later than 31 December 2026, whichever comes first. Bring the original card. This is time-sensitive: check the official rules before relying on it.
Names and photographs
Your booking details must match your identity evidence. The photo must look like you, and the centre takes a photograph on the day. Incorrect ID or refusing the photograph can prevent you taking the test without a refund.
Quick answer
Can I bring a screenshot of my passport?
No. Physical identity documents must be originals, not copies or screenshots. The eVisa route has separate share-code rules.
